I was raised in Stars Hollow, CT (Gilmore Girls, look it up) with my mom and dad and my three little sisters, Lauren, Hannah, and Carly. Then I graduated high school and took off for college at the Franciscan University of Steubenville in Steubenville, OH. There I majored in Cathechetics and Theology, joined a household called Love of the Lamb, got involved in every ministry possible, terrorized the boy's dorms, made friends with all sorts of people from all around the country, drank a lot of coffee, and met a wonderful man named Kyle from Texas.
When I was a senior in college Kyle put a ring on it. It was terribly romantic and wonderful and we began to plan our wedding for as soon as we graduated college because we were saving ourselves for marriage and, let's be honest, those nine months of engagement would be long enough to wait.
We got married in the July following graduation and moved to Texas where I was really homesick and couldn't keep a job (freaking mono) and was busy eating all sorts of food there because Texans... they know how to C-O-O-K. I got offered a youth ministry job back in New England (yay!) but before we left I had an ectopic pregnancy and lost both the baby and one of my fallopian tubes. It was devastating but the loss made me even more convicted in my vocation as a mother. We got pregnant again a few short months after that and after nine long months of puking, pain, and praising God for every last suffering because they all meant I was having a baby, I gave birth to a 9 lb 12 oz "little" Behr cub named Madeleine.
And I loved being a mother sooooo much (and I lost my job so I had all sorts of free time on my hands) that eight months after she was born I got pregnant AGAIN! And nine months after that I pushed out my 8 lb 10 oz Juliette.
Now I am a blissful stay at home mother who changes cloth diapers, reads books, plays puzzles, makes nom noms, and attempting to keep the house neat and tidy. It's a simple life but I have far more joy and fulfillment doing this than I would anything else.
Kyle is an excellent husband and father and desires to someday add a little dude to our brood but for now, he loves being a king to his little princesses. He works at the airport and therefore we get free flights and are able to travel more often than your average Behrs.
I am also a devoted Catholic and I will do all I can to raise my family to be a light in this world. We have family prayer time and teach them about Jesus and Mary and obedience to the pope and right from wrong. We want them to be saints. My dream is to someday have a son ordained because I figure it's like an all access pass to heaven. You know, the super exclusive parts with the massage chairs and the complimentary champagne, rubbing elbows with Peter and Paul. I'll totally be okay though with all of my kids being married and making me grand babies but a priest would be nice. For the free champagne in heaven.
So that's a little about me. If you want to know, just ask!
